Position Summary/ Department Summary:
Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner, Orthopedics (40 hours)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive care of subspecialty team patients on the physical medicine and rehabilitation/Physiatry team
  • Treating new and established patients, interpreting diagnostic imaging, managing pre-op and post-op appointments
  • Coordinating patient care both internal and external to BCH as a core responsibility
  • Role is primarily non-procedural
  • Managing acute and chronic orthopedic conditions that span infancy to young adult age groups. Patient population often includes Cerebral Palsy, and those with limb loss and mobility differences.
  • Clinic coverage could be across all BCH locations including Boston as well as Waltham, Weymouth, Peabody and Needham as needed
  • Working four 10-hour day shifts per week, Monday-Friday with built in administrative time

Minimum Qualifications
Education
:

  • Master’s Degree from a Physician Assistant program or a Master’s Degree in Nursing

Experience:

  • Previous experience as a PA/NP in pediatrics, orthopedics or other related area is strongly preferred
  • A strong desire to work in the pediatric orthopedic setting.
  • Ability to work in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons, nurses, Advanced Practice Clinicians (APC) and ambulatory staff is essential.
  • Analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth, cross-functional experience-based knowledge.
  • Communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, and well-developed writing skills.

Licensure/ Certifications:

  • A current license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice as a Physician Assistant or as Nurse Practitioner (PNP or FNP)

This role offers a competitive sign‑on bonus ranging from $5,000 + based on your experience.

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
