Serves as a key resource for assigned Epic applications, providing application support, troubleshooting, system configuration, and operational analysis. Works closely with end users, technical teams, and Epic representatives to ensure system functionality aligns with organizational goals and workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter resource for assigned Epic applications, developing expertise in operational workflows, system configuration, and relationships with other Epic modules and integrated systems.
- Partner with end users and stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business needs, define project scope, and identify solutions to moderately complex operational and system issues.
- Perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot application issues, and triage support requests while identifying opportunities for enhancements and project-based improvements.
- Independently complete moderately complex Epic build and configuration activities, including rules, templates, workflows, user access, and application settings, while assessing downstream impacts.
- Document configuration decisions, business requirements, testing results, and user procedures in accordance with department standards and change management processes.
- Conduct unit testing, participate in quality assurance activities, and support application migrations across environments.
- Coordinate implementation efforts involving Epic applications, third-party vendors, technical teams, interfaces, devices, and integrated systems.
- Participate in system upgrades, maintenance activities, release reviews, testing, and validation to ensure continued application performance and compliance.
- Develop and maintain test scripts, support annual updates, resolve interface issues, and assist with ongoing application optimization.
- Communicate effectively with end users, super users, leadership, and project teams regarding project status, enhancements, upgrades, and operational concerns.
- Collaborate with Epic representatives and participate in project meetings, support discussions, and issue resolution efforts.
- Provide user support and specialty training while gathering feedback to improve workflows and system functionality.
- Mentor junior team members by providing guidance on build, testing, troubleshooting, and operational best practices.
- Manage assigned projects and deliverables, ensuring work is completed on schedule and aligned with organizational objectives.
- Participate in professional development activities, Epic forums, and industry events to maintain and expand application expertise.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree required; OR
- Associate’s Degree plus two years of related experience; OR
- High School Diploma/GED plus four years of related experience.
Certifications
Epic certification in one or more of the following:
- EpicCare Ambulatory
- Bones
- Wisdom
- Healthy Planet
- Willow Ambulatory
Experience
- Minimum one year of Epic application support and/or implementation experience within the targeted application area.
- Experience performing application configuration, template management, troubleshooting, operational analysis, and system support.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to users and stakeholders, provide training, and contribute to user education materials.
- Experience working directly with end users, clients, and cross-functional teams to identify solutions and improve operational workflows.
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
