Job/Dept Summary: Manages and coordinates planning, budgeting, scheduling, design, bidding, construction furnishings, and relocation requirements of new construction and renovation projects. Assures compliance with all Federal, State, and local building codes and hospital life safety requirements. Operates and maintains department-based software programs to facilitate projects

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages and plans hospital construction and renovation projects in excess of $500,000 but not greater than $1,000,000
  • Oversees and works with architects and engineering consultants, and vendors on planning, design, and implementation, ensuring conformance with hospital and regulatory standards
  • Serves as Project Manager for designated projects and oversees contractors, supervising all aspects of project, including reviewing and monitoring costs against budget and establishing and maintaining completion schedules
  • Prepares cost estimates, schedules, correspondence, contracts, and purchase requisitions for assigned projects
  • Maintains system documentation. Monitors and maintains drawings, RFIs, submittals, and all pertinent project correspondence
  • Coordinates/monitors construction progress on a daily basis. Inspects and coordinates construction, commissioning, telecommunication, security, data processing, furniture, moving requirements, signage, art, and landscaping
  • Coordinates with all Operations groups within hospital
  • Ensures and reviews project’s close-out materials. Ensures all punch list items are complete, lien waivers, and final payments are completed
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local standards. Maintains compliance documentation in accordance with department policy and procedure
  • May report to Senior project manager or project manager on complex projects

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related field and min 3 years of relatable experience.

Experience:

  • The analytical skills to resolve scientific, clinical, human resources, legal, financial, or administrative problems that require the innovative application of the highest levels of specialized knowledge and/or develop financial and operating plans for one of the hospital’s major departments/divisions
  • The ability to effectively manage the projects within assigned department/division.
  • Hybrid/Remote available

Certifications: Construction Supervisor License preferred

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
