This role helps supports our team within Child Life. Option for five, 8.5hr days or four, 10.5hr days. Friday is required for work.
Key Responsibilities:
Promotes optimal adjustment of patients and families through the use of technology to aid in coping and understanding of their treatment, illness, and disability.
• Provides appropriate gaming and technology-based interventions based on assessment in
collaboration with Child Life Specialist or medical team.
• Oversees bedside and group gaming and VR experience programs including inventory, set-up
and maintenance.
• Participates as a member of unit multidisciplinary team and act as a resource for staff, sharing
resources and information pertaining to the appropriate use of technology.
• Builds and maintains partnerships with organizations in partnership with the Trust who wish to
support the Hospital through technology and technology based programming.
Develops and maintains program statistics as appropriate.
• Develop Job Aids and Standard Work documentation as needed.
• Collaborate with Volunteer Office staff in recruitment and management of tech volunteers,
oversight and training of volunteers.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Education, IT, or related field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Experience working with school-age children and adolescents in a therapeutic setting.
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
