Position Summary
The Dialysis Unit at Boston Children’s provides a spectrum of dialysis care to both chronic outpatients as well as acute inpatients. We support patients with peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) from neonates to adolescents. We have had the distinction of achieving the highest rank in the US News and World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals Nephrology Specialty for many years.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working in a busy and highly regulated Dialysis Program for a patient population of infants to adolescents.
  • Providing dialysis care across inpatient units, all ICU’s as well as chronic outpatient unit.
  • Patient and family education.
  • Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team including dietitians, social workers, child life specialist, pharmacy, etc., to coordinate care.
  • Working 40 hours per week: Monday through Saturday, 10-hour shifts. On call requirement is one overnight shift/week; rotating Sunday on-call coverage.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree in nursing

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year RN experience required.
  • Dialysis experience preferred (adult or pediatric), inpatient pediatric experience preferred.

Licensure/Certifications

  • Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse (RN)

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
