Position Summary/Department Summary:
The BCH pharmacy department is currently recruiting for a 40-hour Clinical Coordinator for oversight of our off-site pharmacies at Waltham and Needham. Our Waltham Pharmacy helps support OR, infusion, and community based acute treatment programs based at our Waltham facility. Additionally, we expect to open a pharmacy to support our new Needham surgery center in January 2026. (Free parking in Waltham and Needham!)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and overseeing daily clinical and administrative operations of designated unit/program/service and providing direct pharmaceutical care.
  • Assisting with preparation of staff schedules, prioritizing and coordinating work assignments, and allocating resources to meet patient care and operational requirements.
  • Providing leadership and supervision for pharmacy staff; participating in hiring, training, evaluation, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with established procedures, standards and guidelines.
  • Coordinating clinical education programs and facilitating performance improvement for pharmacists and technicians.
  • Promoting participation in clinical education and research through precepting residents, students, interns and mentoring staff.
  • Leading and participating in hospital, departmental, and multidisciplinary programs, committees and special projects.
  • Developing, recommending, and implementing internal standards, guidelines, protocols, policies, and procedures to improve quality and cost effectiveness of patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy required, Doctorate degree in pharmacy preferred.

Experience:

  • 4 years advanced practice experience required; supervisory experience highly preferred
  • Prior pediatric pharmacist experience in infusion center or surgical setting highly preferred
  • Analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, and summarize the information and data to solve problems or design relatively complex systems and programs
  • Interpersonal skills to manage the pharmacy staff members under supervision as well as to interact effectively with prescribers, nursing, and other healthcare personnel within the hospital
  • Experience with EPIC not necessary but desirable

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Pharmacist licensure in the state of Massachusetts

This position is 50% staffing / 50% administrative
Schedule: M-F mostly days, but flexibility for off shift coverage as needed. Participation in weekend rotation.
