Position Summary/ Department Summary:
The Computational Neuroscience Laboratory, led by Dr. Caterina Stamoulis, is seeking highly motivated research interns for an 8-week summer research internship. The interns will work on projects at the intersection of Computational Neuroscience and Data Science, which aim to analyze large structural and functional MRI datasets with the goal of understanding the development of brain circuits in adolescence. The intern projects will focus on a) the impact of sleep and/or obesity on adolescent brain development, b) the impact of environmental stress on the adolescent brain. This is an excellent opportunity to learn new computational techniques in Neuroscience and work on a Big Data project that aims to how brain circuits maturate in adolescence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data preparation/curation.
  • Matlab programming.
  • Image analysis.
  • Statistical analysis and modeling.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

  • To qualify, interns must be rising juniors or seniors by the summer of 2026, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience, Biological/Biomedical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

Experience:

  • To qualify, interns need to be able to commit to work full-time over the internship period of 8 weeks.
  • Experience in Matlab programming is required.
  • Interest in Neuroscience and experience in neuroscience and/or neuroimaging is preferred.

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
