Budget Analyst I – Candidates locally or regionally based preferred to MA as onsite requirements will be a few times a year and a few times each April.
Participates in monitoring and controlling the Hospital’s operating budget. Supports the development and maintenance of the annual budget process. Assist with the Position Control Reporting System to confirm with pre-established guidelines as determined in the operating budget for salaries and wages. Assists with the completion of reconciliations with the legacy budget system and the budget ledger; utilizes a personal computer and programming software to extract budget information for ad hoc reporting and variance analyses
Key Responsibilities:
• Participates in monitoring and controlling the Hospital’s operating budget. Supports the development and maintenance of the annual budget process. Assist with the Position Control Reporting System to confirm with pre-established guidelines as determined in the operating budget for salaries and wages. Assists with the completion of reconciliations with the legacy budget system and the budget ledger; utilizes a personal computer and programming software to extract budget information for ad hoc reporting and variance analyses.
• Supports monitoring and controlling the Hospital’s operating budget. Assists with the review of department budgets for accuracy and appropriateness. Works with budget department in support of resolving any submitted information which does not meet the established guidelines and helps resolve areas of concern.
• Supporting the maintenance databases in Microsoft Access or Foxpro and various analytical and statistical reports to provide explanations and interpretations of all aspects of the budget process.
• Maintains the Position Control Reporting System to conform with pre-established guidelines outlined by the current operating salary and wage budget.
• Utilizes a personal computer, programming software and a report writer to perform ad hoc reporting, financial and statistical comparative analyses, variance analyses, trend information, new program review, financial projections and financial and statistical models for Finance and for department managers.
• Provides administrative support to the Budget Department. Prepares and distributes various analytical reports for financial statement processing.
• Provides positive and effective customer service that supports department and hospital operations.
• Maintains, in an organized manner, all budget supporting back up in various media for review. This includes budget journal entries with documentation and various report reconciliations.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree- Business or a closely related field.
Experience:
- No previous experience required.
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
