We are seeking an Interfaith Chaplain to uphold our mission of supporting children, families, caregivers, and staff by providing spiritual care that cultivates healing, wholeness, and honors the dignity of each person.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing spiritual and religious care to all inpatients, families and staff (as needed).
- Collaborating and communicating effectively with nursing, medical, social work and child life staff to provide coordinated and patient-centered care.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Master’s degree in Divinity or a closely related field.
- Successful completion of at least four units of Clinical Pastoral Education.
Experience
- Interfaith and multicultural experience in working with people of many religions (and no religion) from all over the world
- Experience working with children and families
- Ability to communicate well and work on a team—“play well with others”
- Ability to minister in hospital setting in accordance with accepted standards of pastoral practice and sensitivity to the unique needs of pediatric patients and cultural diversity.
- Ability to be flexible regarding scheduling
- Ability to document effectively in the medical record.
- Must work well in crisis situations and with bereavement.
Licensure/Certifications
- Board Certification (APC, NACC, NAJC) completed within two years of employment.
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
