The Division of Emergency Medicine is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Clinical Research Manager to oversee the Clinical Research team. This fully on-site leadership role is responsible for the day-to-day management, development, and support of a team of 5–7 clinical research professionals while ensuring the effective operation of the division’s research programs. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations, supervision, and development of the Clinical Research team, ensuring staff have the training, resources, and support needed to successfully recruit participants and execute study activities across a portfolio of research studies.
- Manage and oversee clinical research administrative processes, workflows, and systems to promote operational efficiency, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
- Provide ongoing performance management, coaching, and guidance to clinical research staff while ensuring adherence to study protocols, institutional policies, and regulatory requirements; collaborate closely with Principal Investigators to address study needs and priorities.
- Serve as a key consultant to Principal Investigators on study implementation, IRB submissions and approvals, participant recruitment strategies, and budget development and management.
- Monitor study progress and team performance, preparing reports and communicating project status, milestones, risks, and resource needs to investigators and leadership.
- Partner with the Director of Research and Division Director to support strategic planning, program growth, workforce development, and continuous improvement initiatives within the clinical research team.
- Allocate resources and manage team workload across multiple studies, ensuring appropriate coverage, prioritization, and successful execution of research activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or Psychology
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of relevant work experience OR Master’s and 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of industry trials preferred.
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
