Key responsibilities:
Answer all incoming lines on switchboard console and connect to appropriate extension in an efficient and courteous manner. Escalates calls to other team members as appropriate. • Handles special and priority calls such as medical emergency and code alerts. • Responds to requests from individuals with pagers, for telephone and page information such as direct dial numbers, department numbers, physician on call status utilizing an automated computerized system. • Provides general information to the public, or refers to appropriate parties for responses • Updates contact data base and customer profiles to reflect the most current information for essential medical and non-medical personnel. • Provides answering service support outside or during business hours. Responsible for greeting callers, establishing reason for call, entering message details, and promptly and accurately delivering messages. • Provides positive and effective customer service that supports departmental and hospital operations. • Informs supervisor of service issues and assists in contacting correct vendor in order to facilitate resolution/repair to telecommunications systems. • Maintains confidentiality of client information.
Education: High-school or GED diploma required
Experience: 6 months of Customer Service experience. Data entry, data processing, general computer experience required. Call center experience preferred.
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
