Position Summary/ Department Summary:
Physician Assistant, Orthopedics

Brief Overview
Please note this role will possibly include coverage of several subspecialities of orthopedics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive care of subspecialty team patients as well as orthopedic trauma/fracture patients.
  • Treating new and established patients, interpretation of diagnostic imaging, pre-op and post-op appointments, and coordination of care.
  • Managing acute and chronic orthopedic conditions that span infant to young adult age groups.
  • Clinic coverage could be across all BCH locations including: Boston, Waltham, Weymouth, Peabody and Needham
  • Working four 10-hour shifts per week with built in administrative time

Minimum Qualifications
Education
:

  • Master’s Degree from a Physician Assistant program

Experience:

  • Previous experience as an PA in pediatrics, orthopedics or other related area is strongly preferred
  • A strong desire to work in the pediatric orthopedic setting.
  • Ability to work in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons, nurses, Advanced Practice Clinicians (APC) and ambulatory staff is essential.
  • Analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth, cross-functional experience-based knowledge.
  • Communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, and well-developed writing skills.

Licensure/ Certifications:

  • A current license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice as a Physician Assistant

**This role offers a sign on bonus of $5,000**

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
