Nurse Practitioner, Perioperative Anesthesia, Per Diem
The Nurse Practitioner in Perioperative Anesthesia collaborates closely with perioperative and anesthesia teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across the surgical continuum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with perioperative and anesthesia teams to provide comprehensive care to patients preoperatively in the operating rooms at our Boston site
- Conducting patient and family interviews; obtaining and documenting medical history, review of systems, and physical examinations as part of the pre-anesthetic evaluation
- Educating patients and families regarding the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of anesthesia, and obtaining anesthesia consent
- Serving as a consultant and educator to perioperative nursing staff
- Acting as a liaison among the anesthesia attending, primary anesthesia team, nursing staff, and families to optimize patient care and communication
- Prescribing and administering premedication prior to anesthesia
- Working per diem working fully on site for: 10-hour shifts, 6:30am-5pm. No nights, weekends or major holidays
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- A Master of Science in Nursing
Experience:
- 5 years of relevant nurse practitioner experience is preferred
Licensure/ Certifications:
- MA licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
