Position Summary
The Senior MRI Technologist performs complex MRI procedures, ensures patient safety, mentors staff, and assists with operational duties while maintaining high-quality imaging standards and departmental compliance. They also participate in training, equipment management, and leadership tasks, requiring certification, experience, and strong technical and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex MRI procedures on both scheduled and emergency patients, ensuring patient safety and adherence to quality control and data integrity standards.
  • Train and mentor staff, fellows, residents, and students in MRI techniques and procedures to maintain high professional standards.
  • Manage equipment and operations, including identifying malfunctions, assisting with inventory, quality assurance projects, and supporting daily departmental workflows.
  • Provide leadership support by filling in for supervisors when needed, overseeing clinical operations, and championing new equipment or process improvements.
  • Maintain patient and family relations by creating a supportive environment, explaining procedures clearly, and responding empathetically to individual patient needs.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

  • Associate’s Degree: Allied Health required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 3 years of experience working as an MRI Technologist.

License/Certification:

  • Preferred: Current MA Radiologic Technologist license for MRI
  • MRI registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARRT certification
  • BLS certification.

New hires may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000.00

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
