Boston Children’s Division of Outpatient Cardiology is one of the world’s oldest, largest, and most experienced pediatric programs.

Our clinic provides comprehensive evaluation and coordinated care for infants, children, and adults with various heart and heart-related illnesses, diseases, and conditions. We care for patients who have congenital heart disease and the congenital heart defects (CHDs) that it causes, conditions such as septal defects and tetralogy of Fallot. We also care for those who have acquired heart disease — conditions such as cardiomyopathy and hypertension.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting patient care in our Outpatient Cardiology Clinic Boston & Satellite Locations.
  • Provide team–based care to patients with symptoms requiring cardiology evaluation and patients with known congenital or acquired heart disease and arrhythmias.
  • Pre-clinic preparation, attendance at clinic session, nursing assessment, patient and family education, anticipatory guidance, care coordination and follow-up care.
  • Completing the pre-anesthesia screening process for patients undergoing anesthesia echocardiograms, CTs, and Implantable Cardiac Devices.
  • Eventual training into the Charge Nurse role.
  • Approximately 50% of time spent completing triage phone calls from parents and outside providers.
  • Working 40 hours per week: 10-hour shifts in Boston and at satellite locations. Satellite locations vary and may include: Waltham, Peabody, Lexington, Weymouth, Norwood, Dartmouth, Milford.

Minimum qualifications:
Education:

  • BSN degree.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of ambulatory or inpatient pediatric nursing experience preferred, with preference for pediatric acute care.
  • Pediatric cardiac experience preferred

License/Certification:

  • MA RN License.
  • BLS required, PALS required after 1 year.

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
